EQUITY / NON-EQUITY CALL:
Non-union performers are paid an hourly rate of $12.50 for rehearsals through tech. Performances are a 4-hour minimum ($50 per show). Union performers are paid the SPT-8 weekly minimum.

Performances begin July 3rd

ABOUT THE SHOW:
Broadway’s Best Party is turning up the volume to ten! Nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical, ROCK OF AGES captures the iconic era that was the big bad 1980s Hollywood. Know What Love Is, Feel the Noise, and Take Your Best Shot at one of the Sunset Strip’s last epic venues, a place where the legendary Stacee Jaxx returns to the stage and rock-n-roll dreamers line up to turn their fantasies into reality. Featuring the music of hit bands such as Styx, Poison, Twisted Sister, and Whitesnake among many others, this Tenth Anniversary production features a dynamic new cast revisiting the larger than life characters and exhilarating story that turned ROCK OF AGES into a global phenomenon. This is one for the ages that will have you singing “Here I Go Again.”

Audition Preparation:

BREAKDOWN:
CYGNET ENCOURAGES PERFORMERS OF ALL ETHNICITIES, GENDER IDENTITIES, AND AGES, AS WELL AS PERFORMERS WITH DISABILITIES, TO ATTEND EVERY AUDITION.

**The role of JUSTICE has been cast

DREW: an appealing, good-guy rocker, with great, easy comic timing. A boyish charm, vulnerability and a very strong rock tenor voice. (Vocal range: Bb3-D5)

SHERRIE: Caucasian female, an in-shape, pretty, fresh faced, innocent Midwestern girl stepping right off the bus into a new world to pursue her dreams of stardom. Strong comedic timing, strong rock belt, good movement ability. Should be comfortable in revealing/skimpy clothing. (Vocal range: G3-F5)

LONNY: The narrator of the piece, charming, mischievous, welcoming, vibrant personality, a guy who would be fun to spend one drunken night with. Strong, honest comedic timing/improv skills and strong rock vocals. (Vocal range: D3-D5)

DENNIS DUPREE: Classic stoner type guy who runs the Bourbon Room club. Torn about whether he should sell the club to Hertz, a German businessman. Very strong comedic timing. A laid back, easy going dude real dude. Bari-tenor rock vocals. (Vocal range: D3-G4)

STACEE JAXX/FATHER: A sexy rock star. Decided to leave his successful hair/metal-rock band to try it solo. Self important, confident intriguing in all the wrong ways, the ultimate bad boy; he is all about sex, drugs and rock-n-roll. Great strong comedic timing and strong rock tenor voice. (Vocal range: C3-Eb5)

**JUSTICE/MOTHER: THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST. African American female, strong presence, an easy sensuality about her, once a performer, she now operates a strip club where Sherrie winds up working. Takes on the maternal role for the girls that work for her. Strong, soulful vocals and belt needed. (Vocal range: G3-Db5)

HERTZ KLINEMANN: An attractive older German male. Uptight, cold, intimidating businessman trying to buy up the Strip to develop it. The bad guy of the piece. Strong comedic timing and baritone vocals. (Vocal range: F3-G#4)

FRANZ KLINEMANN: Hertz’s son, young German male. Works for his father but not by choice. Pressured and intimidated by his father. Shy, gentle with a big heart. Could be perceived as being “gay” but is actually just German. Strong vocals and comedic timing. (Vocal range: Db3-E5)

REGINA: A fun, hippie type, in shape, earthy girl who fights against the attempted take over of the Strip. Strong comedic timing, belt vocals and comfortable in revealing/skimpy clothing. (Vocal range: A3-Eb5)

MAYOR/JA’KEITH/ENSEMBLE: A strong African American character actor with good comedic timing to play numerous roles, strong rock tenor and strong dance/movement ability. (Vocal range D3-B4)

JOEY PRIMO/ENSEMBLE: A young man with the rocker sensibility, strong rock tenor and strong dance/movement ability, a possible US for DREW/STACEE.

FEMALE ENSEMBLE: Three of the sexiest female singer/dancers around! Sassy, in shape, beautiful. Must be comfortable in very skimpy/sexy clothing. Strong dancers proficient in jazz and modern, comedic ability and strong rock vocals. Will US principal roles.
