San Diego Premiere

The 2006 Tony Award for Best Play went to this comedy/drama about a bunch of bright, funny boys in a British boarding school who are, as such boys will be, in pursuit of sex, sport, and acceptance at a good university – generally in that order. In their efforts, they are helped by a maverick history teacher who seeks to broaden their horizons in sometimes unorthodox ways, and by a young teacher who questions the methods, as well as the aim, of their schooling. Alan Bennett raises, with gentle wit, universal questions about the nature of history, how it is taught and questions the purpose of education today.
