Terry O’Donnell has worked with many regional theatre companies including The Old Globe, Moonlight Stage Productions, Starlight Musical Theatre, Theatre in Old Town, Welk Resort, and La Jolla Playhouse. Selected projects include: Forbidden Broadway (with national company), Beehive (Drama-Logue Award for musical direction), Assassins (west-coast premiere), Triumph of Love, Song of Singapore, Master Class, and Gilligan’s Island: the Musical (regional premieres), Bat Boy, and Honk! (San Diego premieres), and five years with San Diego’s longest running musical Forever Plaid. Dr. O’Donnell is Professor Emeritus of Music and Theatre at San Diego State University. He is a founding faculty member of their unique MFA graduate degree program – one of only two Master of Fine Arts musical theatre programs in the nation. Presently, he serves as Board of Trustees President for Young Audiences of San Diego – part of a national network of affiliates that bring quality arts education programs to schools. For eighteen years, he served as music editor for Hugh Martin, renowned composer of “The Trolley Song,” and “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.”
